DJing 2500m Up in Grimentz
Last minute gig in Grimentz got me a chance to mix on the mountain at an altitude of 2500 meters and keep the vibes hot! We had to go up to the area by snowmobile and this was not an easy ride for someone that does not like extreme heights. We went up with the bare minimum in equipment. Connecting to the local powered speakers connected to a 3 channel mixer (which surprisingly had USB capability). I connected our trustworthy Vestax VCI-300 to their mixer and loaded up the Serato in our macbook to get the music going in the sub-zero conditions. The sun was out and the crowd was excited to open up the ski/snowboard season with some music on the terrasse. We were able to keep the après-ski crowd motivated with a wide selection of music from different genres given the wide audience that enjoy the slopes.
